On the way to the locker room after the game, a girl ran up to me and gave me her number on a piece of paper. She was telling me about a party that was going down and invited me.

       “Should be fun.”

Two hours later——

—and as I’m running from the officer, another car had hit the corner right in front of me. I thought I was already caught until my friend Dontez yelled my name and I started running his way and started hitting a few blocks. They had let their dogs out on us. That's when we knew we could no longer run. It was time to hide. We hid in the bushes and a cop walked right past us as we blended in with the bushes. My heart was beating so fast, I could barely feel my body. I was scared and weak.

“We have eyes on a suspect walking down he road,” I heard the radio dispatch say. The officer took off running the opposite way after standing right in front of us. We were safe, for now.
